The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike responds back to the allegation on bad food quality in Indira Canteens.
The Mayor of BBMP, Gangambike Mallikarjun defends the food quality of Indira Canteen by saying that inspection and quality checks are conducted on a regular basis.
Gangambike mallikarjuna, Mayor, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike, said, “Everyday hundreds of people have food at the Indira canteen and we have not received any complaints about the food quality. Neither have we known about anybody falling ill after eating the food there”.
Allegations against the Indira Canteen were put forth by Umesh Shetty, BJP leader last week where he produced hospital reports that stated the presence of fungus and bacteria in the food from Indira Canteen. He stated that this has caused Jaundice and Diarrhea for a lot of people.
The Mayor also added that they were going to do the intensive investigation on the allegations.
Gangambike mallikarjuna, Mayor, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike, said, “The Allegations by the BJP is only to create a controversy before the elections. We will be investigating the matter and also look for the authenticity of the hospital reports produced”.
