Increase of cannabis smuggling in Bangalore. Last evening the Bangalore police seized 15kg of ganja from two passengers in Bangalore Cantonment railway station.
Last evening the government railway police seized 15 kg of ganja from two passengers in Bangalore Cantonment railway station. Bangalore police report 5 cases of cannabis smuggling from the cantonment area this year.
Satyappa Mukanavar, Sub Inspector, Cantonment Railway station told The City Cast “till now we received 54 Kg cannabis of Bangalore Cantonment railway station this year. The ganja comes from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Orissa. These smugglers are mainly students, taxi drivers, and laborers”. imbibing cannabis can cause serious health concerns as well.
“People get into dependency and develop delusion and hallucination. The most complicated side effect is Schizophrenia. It is a very dangerous thing”, said Consultant psychiatrist, Dr. Shashi Dhar S Bilagi. In India it the sale and use of narcotics are prohibited under the narcotics prevention act.
“Usage of this material in a particular fashion or particular format is not been defined and hence it is been considered as an illegal substance if it is beyond the permissible limit,” said Deepti Ayathan, Advocate. Smuggling of Cannabis into the city is on the rise in 2019 and it is increasing day by day.
