Over the past few months, digital media has seen a steep rise in the marketing sector
Digital Marketing is growing as a media in the city over the past six months. The real estate and the automobile industry that had especially dedicated heavy budgets of marketing in outdoor advertising now go online.
“Digital Marketing is the new trend in the industry due to its reach and visibility. In terms of our company, 70 percent of the budget is now diverted to digital media,” said Meghana Gupta, Deputy General Manager of Pioneer Developers. She added, “In the digital medium, we look for google analytics, search engine optimization as basics. We also go for social media campaigns that are very commonly used these days. These platforms are also very influential.”
After the ban on flexes and hoardings, for a year, under a law passed by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) in the city, the advertising industry has limited options for exploring.
“Digital Marketing is the way forward for outdoor advertising,” said Abhishek Banerjee, Associate Vice President at Kinetic Worldwide. He added, “There is a 20 to 30 percent growth in the revenue of digital marketing sector. With the ban in place, the agencies also try out innovative options to satisfy their clients and their brand needs. This form also proves beneficial as it is dynamic and adds to the advantage of being more creative for the agencies to reach the target audience. Newer forms in the advertising industry are being explored like the corporate space, bars, and restaurants.”
“The trend for digital marketing is because of the increasing use of gadgets these days. The sellers also find this form cost-effective and its advantages of reaching a wider audience is easily available,” said Charu Sehgal, Masters of Business Administration professor at Galgotias University.
