No roads in Muddebihal Taluk

Villages in Muddebihal taluk have not seen roads for 40 years; Gram panchayat has not taken any initiative to construct the roads but has put up boards saying road construction has been completed in 2016.

Villages of Muddebihal taluk does not have proper roads, they find it difficult to commute. Gram Panchayat constructed roads in 2016 and put up boards stating the completion of roads within the village and the road leading to the same.
Rajappa, a farmer said, “We have never seen roads from our childhood, its complete mud road and has no connectivity. We are parking our vehicles outside the village on the main roads and entering villages.”
Gram panchayat received funds from Scheme in the year 2013 but did not construct roads. There is not enough space for road construction. The recommended width is 10 feet. However, the gram panchayat has built a house across with 2 feet distance between them.
Siddiqi Rao, Joint Commissioner, Rural Development, and Panchayat Raj said, “Funds for road construction has been already released to gram panchayat they should take initiative in a call for tenders and start work as soon as possible.”
Professor Dr. Nagaraj Gupta, HOD, East-West Institute of Technology says, “The design of roads gapping what they have planned in a sketch is not proper the drains gap should be provided in one corner of the place and asphalting should be done to these roads for 2 feet road white topping procedure can be used.”
Villagers request the government to provide proper infrastructure because due to this they are facing transportation and health.
