Illegal structures of advertisement hoardings continue to be seen in the city.
Around 1806 illegal structures to support the hoardings have not been removed because the contracts from the advertisers haven’t expired yet.
Anuradha, a college student said, “Still flex made of plastics can be seen in a lot of places, though the Govt. banned both plastic and hoardings and even structures are seen in a lot of places.”
Even after the ban imposed on 2018 on hoardings in public places, yet, several structures can be seen around the city.
Suresh, PRO (BBMP) said, “We are removing them day-by-day. From somewhat 3000 we have come down to 1806.Hopefully, by the end of the year, we will remove all.”
The ban was imposed with the intent to establish a comprehensive system of controls governing the display, design, construction, and maintenance of public messages.
Suchika, PRO (Vowels advertising agency) said, “The BBMP have banned the hoardings in the city. It affected our business but BBMP should come with some permanent measures rather than temporary policies.”
Recently the High Court directed the BBMP to remove the structures which have been put up illegally.
