The state government has increased the fees of the government engineering colleges by 10000 rupees for the academic year 2021-22. Students are hesitant about taking admission in engineering colleges. Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) said that the hiked amount will be added as ‘other fees. ‘Overall, students will be paying 33,810 now. Student organizations are questioning this sudden hike in fees and are planning a protest. Expert says this might cause a decline in enrolment in government engineering colleges.
