Bengaluru: Lack of funds for schools for the visually impaired has hindered the quality of education that the children receive. The schools depend on old methodologies like Braille sets The infrastructure is minimalistic and children are restricted to course-related books Schools have to rely on private donors. But that too has reduced in the past two years. The lack of funds has led to a shortage of teachers, with many quitting as they are not being paid enough. With the help of awareness programs, schools are hopeful that they will get more public funding (public funding means government/tax money) that will help them continue educating the children.
