Waiting for the PLA’ is the story of Assam and its  situation during the war of 1962. It is a real life account of the Assistant Commissioner posted there at that time.

The author says, “Being posted there at that time, I know for certain, that China never entered Assam. Also, China’s army strength was same as that of Indian Army.”

The book also covers the aspect where Indian army left behind the people of Assam to suffer and took away their peace.

The Publisher of the book, Mr. Sudarshan says, “The book brings in light a number of controversial issues. Also, these have never been talked about, especially the segment talking about army.”

Books previously written about the China war of 1962 dealt with the speculations.Waiting for the PLA  claims to be all facts.

“It’s true that people believe China entered Assam. But it’ll be interesting to see and read the other side of the story, which is true.” says Neekee Chaturvedi, a Professor of History.

Indo-China war of 1962 has always been controversial. With the tensions brimming between both the nations it will be interesting to see the response the book receives.
