While recreating the crime scene, two shot in the leg after they try to escape

Bengaluru:Two accused in the Bangalore rape case were shot in the leg after they allegedly tried to escape the crime scene. Earlier today,  police had taken two of the accused of the reconstruction of the crime scene where they allegedly tried to flee.

“They have been taken to the hospital (accused). The DCP is in constant touch with the Kerala police to track down the woman. We have also sent a team to look for the victim to get her statement,” said S Murugan, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police (East), Bengaluru City.

This development comes after the Police arrested five Bangladeshis last night in a brutal assault and gang rape of a woman in Ramamurthy Nagar. The woman is also said to be from Bangladesh. The Bengaluru Police said in a press release that on the basis of preliminary evidence a case of rape and assault has been registered against the five accused.

Officials say the incident occurred six days ago. After which the woman fled to the neighboring state of Kerala. The five people, including a woman,  had brought the victim to India for trafficking. All the accused were residing in India illegally.

The incident came to light when a video of the gruesome act was circulated on social media in North East.  Following that the Assam Police released photos and sought information about the accused and offered a reward.

“These images are of 5 culprits who are seen brutally torturing & violating a young girl in a viral video. The time or place of this incident is not clear. Anyone with information regarding this crime or the criminals may please contact us. They will be rewarded handsomely,” tweeted the Assam Police.

The East Mojo in conversation with the Deputy Commissioner of Police from Tejgaon, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Md. Sahidullah said that one of the accused has been identified. He is a resident of the Mogbazar area where he is known as Tiktok or Hridoy Babu, the victim is also said to be from the same area. The Police said she went missing around three months back.

S Murugan added that currently they haven’t contacted the Bangladesh Police and will do so in due time. “All the six people were illegally residing in Bengaluru, they were illegal migrants from Bangladesh,” he concluded.
