Delay in Cauvery Water Pipeline Work in Bommanahalli, Dasarahalli, Yelahanka, Mahadevapura and Rajarajeshwari Nagar is affecting the residents.

According to a resident, Mohan Naik, “The work for Cauvery has been going on for several months but it hasn’t been completed. The road was wide before but now it has been shortened. So, there is problem while walking.”

According to Satish.R, Technical Assistant (Project) BWSSB, “We had to take permissions from BBMP and Traffic Police regarding the digging of roads and widening of roads etc. So there is a delay.”

Satish.R also says that they have funds up to Rs 1,500 crore and they will finish the work till March this year. He also says that the work of laying Cauvery Water Pipelines should have been completed by May 2019.

According to Dr V Ramesh, an Urban Planner, “There is no proper allocation of money for the work and the water supply of Cauvery is only 30 to 40%. The BWSSB is doing this work just for the eye-washing sake.”

The Urban Planner also says release of funds is the only solution for fast completion of the work of laying the Cauvery water pipelines.
