Many students and first time voters visited the awareness program in Krantivira Sangoli Rayana railway station. They have organized a program to show people how to vote in the correct way, step by step. Thousands of people visited here.
The Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) website showed details about the candidates standing for the 2019 elections.
Sanjeev Kumar, CEO of SVEEP said, “The program is for the awareness of the voters. People should be aware about their rights and shall know about their candidates before electing them.”
The Election Commission of India installed the new system at all polling stations.
M N Swami, Assistant Director of Press Information Bureau said, “After voting, the candidate will appear on the VVPT and it will be there for 7 seconds. Afterwards the print out will be in the chamber where it is sealed. It is a new system which the election Commission of India installed in all polling stations to assure no misuse of votes.”
The first time voters are happy as the program will guide them to cast their first vote.
Guruprasad, a student of Surana College said, “Many are here who are going to cast their first vote. It has been very useful for us first time voters. I got to know about the process and the voting machine. It is good to know that there are facilities for the differently-abled as well.”
